“Bright Cactus” Ushers The Nike Clogposite Into Summer

The 2000s model pays off its previewed pair.

“Bright Cactus” Ushers The Nike Clogposite Into Summer

While we’ve generally already gotten the payoff for many of the products previewed in the inaugural SNKRS showcase (the Nike Air 180, ACG Rufus and Eggplant Foams chief among them), there’s a few silhouettes whose retail debut is still pending. The Nike Clogposite is in that group, but a steady stream of official images in the past few weeks lay out what to expect for its reintroduction. The latest dresses it in seasonal fashion, painted in heavy tones of “Bright Cactus.”

The mule model makes good on its title, essentially drenching its full profile in neon. That bright tonality is tinted a bit throughout, a tad lighter on the synthetic tongue, a tad darker on the TPU foxing at the midfoot and translucent on the outsole underfoot. A few pops of fire red on the Swooshes break up the otherwise monochromatic profile, but this edition is largely what it promises on the tin.

Zooming out, the performance of the Nike Clogposite will be something to watch as it makes it way to stores. The emergence of silhouettes like the New Balance 1906L and Air Jordan 1 Golf Mule showcase the market’s willingness to accept comfort-minded takedowns. Given that the Clogposite’s initial 2000s run was far from a runaway success, whether the model can experience a renaissance this go-around will no doubt factor into whether Beaverton will test their luck with other Y2K curios in the future.

The Nike Clogposite “Bright Cactus” is expected to drop as a part of Nike’s Fall ’24 slate. Expect a $140 sticker price when this pair materializes.

Sticking with the Swoosh, the upcoming release slate is highlighted by the Kobe Protro Girl Dad and Deion Sanders’ shoes, the Nike Air DT Max ’96.
