adidas AE1 Low “Mural” Releases In August

A new chapter for Anthony Edwards' signature shoes begins soon.

adidas AE1 Low “Mural” Releases In August

The adidas AE1 newswire slowed down significantly once Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves got eliminated from the playoffs, but nonetheless, the NBA star’s first signature shoe is back in the headlines. Officially unveiled in an adidas ad campaign back in late April, the adidas AE1 Low is finally set to debut in the “Mural” colorway in August 2024.

The AE1 Low is a seamless takedown of its mid-top counterpart; the cage remains largely untouched, while the top portion of the collar is essentially chopped off to produce the lower height. There are, however, two minor yet notable changes worth mentioning: The heel portion of the midsole comes with an oval-shaped cutout, exposing the BOOST cushioning within, and a pull tab is added to the heel for an easier lace-up. If you’ve been keeping up with AE1 drops thus far, the color blocking on display here should strike a familiar note. We see a vibrant, salmon pink TPU cage with black mesh up top, complemented by a light orange accent shade on the heel and tongue logos.

Ant-Man hasn’t shared details behind the “Mural” nickname just yet, but given the fact that previous Anthony Edwards shoe colorways adopt themes inspired by his hometown of Atlanta, we can safely venture to say that the moniker derives from local street art.

We haven’t heard of a firm drop date at the time of this writing, only that the shoes will release in August 2024 for $110 in men’s sizing. See detailed images of the adidas AE1 Low “Mural” ahead and return to our Sneaker Release Dates page for all the most current information.
