The Nike Air Max 2013 Goes All-In On “Metallic” Treatments

Opinions are subjective, but the Nike Air Max 2013 might just be the most underrated Air Max shoe there is. The model was pulled off shelves after a short run in 2013 to make way for the new Air Max Flyknit, only to be revived nearly a decade later via a Stüssy collaboration in 2022. Nike then re-introduced more consumers to the archived Air Max shoe via GR drops last year, a trend that’s since bled over into 2024 through the sporadic release of new colorways.

The Air Max 2013 isn’t considered a “tech-runner” by most definitions, but through a liberal use of Metallic treatments throughout, this latest pair clearly has its sights set on that trending aesthetic. Metallic Silver, Pewter, and Gold treatments define the upper half, flaring up near the collar, eyelets, forefoot, and mudguard in an eccentric display. Gold accents play a small yet significant role here, framing a white Swoosh and accounting for the slim leather eyelet strip up top. Returning to Air Max 2013 norms, a full-length, blue-tinted Air midsole appears underfoot, complemented by black tread to round out the design.

Pairs are currently available now in men’s sizing on Nike.com for $180. See official images below and turn to our “Where To Buy” section for shopping links if you’re compelled to cop a pair.
