Nike SB is in a great place. Some high-profile announcements like the Nike SB Air Max 95 and sequel efforts with the Jordan 4 SB “Varsity Red” & Jordan 4 SB “Navy” add a ton to the 2025 slate, but their current roster is plenty healthy as well. With many of the best skaters in the world signed to the Swoosh, Beaverton is seemingly intent on adding a new lane to their current catalog, as a budget-friendly model titled the “Malor” is set to enter the mix.
Though there hasn’t been an official announcement or dissection of this shoe from Nike yet, even in these initial images we can get a pretty good sense of the design language on display. It appears as a mashup of many of the other SB offerings in the current catalog. The circular cutout at the quarter reflects similar choices on the Nike SB Leo Baker and Air Max Ishod. Compositionally, the mix of canvas, mesh and suede and the vulcanized rubber sole are both ever-present in the skateboarding genre, but bring up current spotlight models like the Janoski and SB Force 58 as comparisons.
While aesthetically you can track some shared linage, in terms of tech, this leans very much towards the simplistic side. That composition almost assuredly as a cost-accessible addition to the roster. The appearance of Solarsoft foam, Nike’s most baseline foam, typically utilized in lower-budget models.
The Nike SB Malor is confirmed to release on nike.com beginning July 1st for $75.
