The Nike SB PS8 Surfaces In “Black/Clear”

Updated July 31st, 2024: The Nike SB PS8 “Black/Clear” drops via Nike SNKRS on August 8th, 2024. Pairs will also release sporadically at skate shops throughout the month.

The following was published on June 26th, 2024:

Nike SB unveiled its most advanced skate shoe to date at the Nike: On Air event in Paris back in April, and while we’re still waiting on the Nike SB PS8 to make its grand market debut via the “Olympic” colorway, we just got our first look at another upcoming pair.

Presented here with an all-black upper, you’d be hard pressed to find a more agreeable colorway for the model’s rollout collection. Textured leather appears on the toe, eyelet strips, and heel, while the rest of the base is comprised of different synthetics like nylon and TPU. Much like the “Olympic” colorway, we see another semi-translucent gum sole with blue and orange tints near the mudguard and sole, respectively. Perhaps this will be the norm for the new skate shoe moving forward, but it’s far too early to stake that claim.

Although wear testers haven’t been able to report on the shoe’s performance just yet, the Nike SB PS8 is said to resolve eight common grievances identified by skaters and the Nike Sport Research Lab. Additionally, the “Problem Solver 8” name honors the late Sandy Bodecker, the godfather of Nike SB who passed away in 2018. His instagram handle was @problemsolver8.

Pairs are currently expected to hit skate shops in August 2024 for $120, although no firm online release date has been floated at the time of this writing. Keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates page while we populate all the latest available information over the coming months.
