As the Air Max 90 is never off of shelves for too long, Nike creatives no doubt realize the need to tinker with the Hatfield design. We’ve seen bonafide spin-off toolings like the Nike Air Max 90 Drift, commemorative editions like the Air Max 90 “Olympic” and all-around playful themes on the Nike Air Max 90 “Sound Waves.” Sometimes less is more, though, a philosophy expressed with the latest “Triple Black” AM90 – at least at first glance.

While heel-to-toe nocturnal tones do in fact make the first impression for this pair, its true draw is only seen with the lights out: a reflective, 3M Swoosh brightens up the full profile. The only addition touches that interrupt a full nighttime profile are the upper eyestays and the mudguard, tinted up in tone towards a steely blue-gray. With “Triple Black” already a frequent choice for both workwear and casually, those who prefer grungier looks, the 3M branding on this colorway gives an easy chance to sneak some flair into your wardrobe.

The Nike Air Max 90 “Reflective Swoosh” should be landing via Nike.com and retail shelves in short order. Anticipate a $130 retail price upon arrival.
