The New Balance WRPD Runner Goes Stealth Mode In “Black/Carbon”

An understated look for the retro-inspired lifestyle shoe.

The New Balance WRPD Runner Goes Stealth Mode In “Black/Carbon”

All-black sneakers have long been one of the most essential uniforms there is, both for service workers and sneakerheads who are simply fond of the aesthetic. Taking aim at both those realms, New Balance just dressed the WRPD Runner in stealthy makeup for Fall 2024.

Taken with suede overlays and a mesh base, the New Balance logos and midsole come painted in “Carbon” on the otherwise all-black shoe. The model itself is a bit of an anomaly in the chunky “dad shoe” genre, skewing towards a more generalized aesthetic with smooth contours across the upper. New Balance has dressed the shoe in similar all-black makeup multiple times since it’s August 2023 debut, but such simplistic looks tend to draw consumer demand regardless.

Interested parties can expect the New Balance WRPD Runner “Black/Carbon” to hit shelves in the near future for $150 in unisex sizing. See detailed images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to browse other upcoming pairs by the Boston brand.

Speaking of which, the New Balance 550 and New Balance 9060 continue to surface in new seasonal looks.
