Despite its wonky construction at first glance, the Nike Vapormax line is consistently bringing home successes to Beaverton. The latest, the Nike Vapormax Flyknit 2023, has leaned into the differing design languages of its upper and lower sections with its palettes, often keeping to a simple layout up top and saving the experimental touches for the sole. It’s hard to say if they’ve ever done so to as drastic results as on the Nike Vapormax Flyknit 2023 “Multicolor.”
As promised, the Flyknit upper sticks almost entirely to black, only diverging from pure night to on a shimmering silver Swoosh. The green/teal/orange split underfoot of course is the main attraction, infusing this shoe’s full profile with a ton of exotic and vibrant energy with just its presence alone. While it is functionally a gradient, with a slight ombre gradually working each color into the next, from a distance it’s more of a hard tri-tone split, allowing this to step into true statement piece territory.
The Nike Vapormax Flyknit 2023 “Black/Multicolor” will likely hit Nike.com and retailers in the coming weeks. The typical $210 price tag is projected.
