Matt Varga The New Balance 1906R has been a heavy hitter all year, both in general release colorways and in collaborative efforts, the Action Bronson three-pack and the yet-unreleased Jack Harlow edition the cream of that crop. A third distribution strategy somewhere in the middle has seen the Boston brand granting exclusive pairs to their retail partners. ASOS now joins a list alongside Foot Locker & Footpatrol, earning the opportunity to design their own neon-tinged edition of the 1906R.
While the base of pure white, chrome & “Sea Salt” off-white is the starting point for a lot of New Balance 1906R releases, don’t mistake this one for being run of the mill. High-energy neon green and just-adjacent chartreuse run throughout the leather overlays, dovetailing into a high-energy overall profile. Additionally, a faux-contrast sole is executed underfoot, leaving the mid-to-forefoot section in conservative white while overtaking the rear half and outsole in jet black.
