Chipped Paint And Yellowed Midsoles Appear On The New Balance 550 “Vintage Orange”

The New Balance 1906R has likely surmounted the New Balance 550 in terms of popularity at this point, but the Boston brand doesn’t appear to be cooling on the retro basketball-turned-lifestyle sensation any time soon. Several colorways are on tap for Fall 2024, including a few pre-aged pairs that build on the “Reimagined” series from earlier this year.

Taken with a yellowed midsole and paint-chipped quarter branding, this latest pair swatches “Vintage Orange” onto the same color blocking formula seen across preceding “Reimagined” pairs. The collar, tongue, and outsole all work in the titular hue, while the base comes crafted primarily out of white leather. Sparse flashes of cracked grey leather near the forefoot and collar build on the overarching theme, comprising another tried-and-true vintage take on the 1989-born model.
