Heavy-Duty Cordura Drapes This Stealthy Nike Air Force 1 Low

The AF1 gets some industrial retooling.

Heavy-Duty Cordura Drapes This Stealthy Nike Air Force 1 Low

When a shoe has been on the market as long as the Air Force 1, and a style defining one at that, there’s got to be a couple curveballs in your arsenal to keep things fresh. While not a first-time proposition, the latest twist on the “Uptown” is durable Cordura fabric, fit for the transitional weather on the horizon.

Last tackled in 2021 with another sneaker and a boot style, the Cordura material is essentially applied in the same spots, replacing underlay panels on the toe-box and quarter. The synthetic nylon imbues a tactile atmosphere to the shoe overall, only enhanced by the tonal colorway that almost entirely relies on dusky navy. The trademark Cordura tag hanging from the Swoosh is the only interruption on the upper half, while complementary hits of jet black drape the midsole. It breaks from the comprehensive palette but enhances an overall nocturnal feel for this utility-minded take on Bruce Kilgore’s design.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low Cordura “Obsidian” is expected to drop in the coming weeks, carrying a $130 retail price upon arrival. While we wait, check out official images just ahead.
