The Converse Chuck 70 has worn many hats in its full century on shelves. As Chuck devotees refuse to take them off in even the most inclement of climates, the company is helping ease those troubles on their end of things. Gore-Tex is being grafted onto the old-school silhouette in two new colorways for this upcoming season.
It’s notably not the first time that the heavy duty fabric has graced the vintage basketball silhouette, with cold weather collections from past years featuring the retooling on a pretty consistent basis. Much like Converse’s work with CDG, the main draw is how the additional branding in spun onto the everlasting design. Here, Gore-Tex is spelled out on the rubber foxing that runs across the full silhouette, a further iteration on past shoes where it’s cropped up diagonally on the heel, oversized on the side panel or on additional pull tabs, to name a few.
Both of the looks on offer here split things into a three-tone colorway, maintaining black & olive throughout the fabric upper with off-white on the sole underfoot. Either shoe closes out with an additional accent shade on the All Star emblem and select details throughout; black for the green shoe and dark tan for the black.
The Converse Chuck 70 Gore-Tex is available now via certain European stores, but a wide stateside Converse drop hasn’t yet been announced. For now, check out official images included just below.
