The following was published on August 19th, 2024:
Alexis Sablone didn’t participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics, but the Connecticut-born skater still left a huge mark on the international competition. She designed the Nike SB Olympic kits for Team USA and Team Japan, including a multi-brand footwear duo comprised of an SB Dunk Low and Converse AS-1 Pro, her signature skate shoe.
Now that the Paris Games have come and gone, Sablone’s sneaker duo is now set to release as a super-limited, 500-pair pack on August 22nd, complete with special custom packaging. As seen below, the boxes sport Sablone’s signature purple shade and come with individual numbering, with the two separate shoe containers treated with a glossy, abstract gold pattern.
Naturally, the packaging echos the design of the footwear. Alexis drew inspiration from the color-changing aspects of a chameleon, bringing wear-away fabrics to a reptilian-textured SB Dunk Low and AS-1 Pro. The Dunk boasts camo green overlays that wear down into a fuchsia base layer, while the AS-1 Pro comes with textured white leather up top, lending way to the same pink shade underneath.
Alexis Sablone’s Nike SB/Converse duo will first release as an exclusive, limited-edition twin-pack on August 22nd via a small number of skate shops. Both shoes will then release individually via Nike SNKRS and skate shops on August 29th.
