Barbie Brings Pink To Its Upcoming Reebok Footwear Collaborations

The Boston brand steps into Barbie Land.

Pink: it goes with everything. Though the Barbenheimer fever of 2023 may be in the rear view, Malibu’s finest isn’t coming off her perch as the queen anytime soon. Reebok is acutely aware of her status, and on September 20th, they’ll link up with the multi-media magnate for an extensive collection of adult & GS kicks.

Barbie’s rosy influence is felt strongest on the Floatzig model, pasting pastel tones throughout the upper and midsole, accented in high contrast fashion by notes of royal & navy blue on the sockliner and outsole. Introduced in the first few months of 2024, the high-soled runner sports a flashy fusion of Reebok’s performance tech, printing Floatride cushioning in the jagged geometric midsole shape that’s defined their running line for years. In this blush outfit, you get an eye-catching look without sacrificing those features.

Then to the BB 4000 II, a low-cut retooling of the Boston brand’s vintage basketball shoe. While holding onto the overlapping panels at the quarter, the overall shape is more fit for lifestyle purposes than strictly the hardwood. A comprehensively nocturnal outfit defines this shoe, instead relegated Barbie’s trademark pink to an accent role. The platformed Club C Extra dons a similar layout but goes even more muted in its application, utilizing soft pink only on the branding and contrast stitching underfoot. Instead, a textured reimagining of panels in the upper and the ultra-high sole unit remain as the chief selling points for this portion of the collection.

Along with the featured silos here, the Barbie Reebok collection will deliver a full slate of kids size offerings, both size downs of the adult versions and a few exclusive styles (Zig Dynamica 2.0, Zig N’ Glow) The full slate arrives on September 20th. Adult versions of the BB 4000 II retail at $100 while the Floatzig 1 arrives at $130.
