Both the success and threat of saturation with metallic New Balance 1906R releases that fully lean into Y2K themes has led to the Boston brand getting a bit more experimental with the silhouette than in its earliest run on the shelves. On top of expressive color-blocking like with the 1906R “Neon Nights,” patterns are becoming a more common sight. The dominant print so far has been “Polka Dot,” and a new style taking on the theme is looming in “Marsh Green.”
Consistent with similar outfits from earlier this year, the color-blocking scheme here prints circular patches of soft pink atop otherwise comprehensive forest green attire. It’s a perfect blend of season-ready attire as we enter autumn, while the stark pastel contrast dotted throughout makes for an all-around arresting outfit. Importantly, this is the sixth leg of this animated theme, arriving after the original 1906R “Polka Dot” black, white & grey pairs, and following official images of a royal blue & neon green set a few weeks back. While it’s unclear whether this is a standalone look or the third pair in the latter collection, it’s a compelling colorway either way.
The New Balance 1906R “Marsh Green” is already appearing at retailers but an official release via NewBalance.com is still pending. We’re expecting that launch to come this September, with retail set at $155.
