Andrew Rizzo The New Balance 1906U has proven itself to be a strong canvas for collaborations, with Invincible and N.HOOLYWOOD, The Whitaker Group, and Concepts all touching up the the utility-focused tech runner this summer. With recent months actually having delivered more collaborations than general releases, the Boston brand eyes a return to normalcy with a fresh in-house “Arctic Grey” colorway, available now at select retailers.
An icy look for the winter months to come, the upper features “Dark Olivine” suede overlays and “Arctic Grey” leather underlays to match the base, delivering a soothing, tonal aesthetic. To the uninitiated; the 1906U differs from the more popular New Balance 1906R with a more rugged, fishnet mesh base and slightly more reinforced toe/forefoot paneling, rendering a more outdoor-appropriate wear. The same “Arctic Grey” color from up top paints most of the midsole, balanced out by “Slate Grey” near the heel portion to complete the design
