The most anticipated KD 4 retro of the year is coming soon.

Where To Buy The Nike KD 4 “Aunt Pearl”

The Nike KD 4 Retro “Aunt Pearl” releases on October 25th via SNKRS and a variety of partnering retailers, arriving in men’s sizing for $130. Reprising one of the most coveted colorways from the sneaker’s original run, the “Aunt Pearl” takes its name from Durant’s late aunt, lost in the battle against lung cancer. The shoe served as the second in the vaunted series, now a theme that sneakerheads anticipate on each successive KD model.

The following was published on September 20th, 2024:

The first ever retro run of the Nike KD 4 has been one of the biggest sneaker stories of 2024 thus far. All the most memorable colorways have and/or will release, and even with Nike having already checked off prized looks like the “Nerf” and “Weatherman,” you could argue that they’re saving the best for last. First previewed all the way back in February, official images of the KD 4 Retro “Aunt Pearl” have finally landed ahead of its October 3rd release date.

To the uninitiated; the KD 4 was the first ever Kevin Durant signature to sport the “Aunt Pearl” design theme, crafted in honor of Durant’s aunt Pearl Williams who passed away from breast cancer in 2000. Likeminded pink and pearlescent colorways have been a staple on all Kevin Durant shoes since, leading all the way up to his current signature; the KD 17. Naturally, the KD 4 “Aunt Pearl” from 2012 remains a top prize among collectors and KD superfans alike, fetching upwards of $500 on the grey market.

Official images of the 2024 retro reveal an identical design, hardly a surprise given preceding KD 4 retros have also stayed true to their original makeups. The bulk of the shoe comes coated in pink, while the heel introduces a fitting white pearl pattern. Notably, while the 2012 pair released in May, the 2024 retro sensibly arrives at the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
