A performance model gets remastered.

COSTS Explores The Infinite Galaxy With The Saucony Kinvara 4

While their name recognition may not be sky high in the US, COSTS remains one of the most steadfast boutiques in China, garnering further attention with a series of Salomon, ASICS & New Balance. Saucony wrote their name in their rolodex in 2022 with a “Black Hole” edition of the Shadow 6000. Some two years later, the pair are reuniting for another space-age link-up on the Kinvara 4 “Infinite Galaxy.”

Much in the same way the GEL-Kayano 14 and Zoom Vomero 5 caught their current wave by returning from their brands’ backlogs, 2013’s Kinvara 4 emerges for the first time for this COSTS capsule. Sporting a perforated quarter window and leather panels that radiate from the laces, the same Y2K runner aspects are very much on display here. New water-repellent fabrics and a pull-tab closure executes the “remastered” touches that bring a streetstyle aura to the model for this collection.

Conceptually, the “Infinite Galaxy” aims at capturing the resplendent notes in starscapes, with the moon’s surface an obvious touchstone for the pair in “Interstellar Grey.” On the shoe featured here, the Milky Way also makes its way into the design, the brilliance of a clear night sky reflected with a glittery finish on the Saucony Three Rivers logo. Crucially, a “Meteorite Sand” colorway is mentioned in official documents, but it appears that sandy edition will remain a friends & family exclusive.

The COSTS Saucony Kinvara 4 has already dropped in China, but the possibility of a wider, global release via Saucony.com remains. While we await further info, check out the full suite of official images included below.
