James Whitner Debuts The A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 3 “Hand Wash Cold”

Half-way through the A Ma Maniére “While You Were Sleeping” collection and fresh off the heels of being found innocent of money laundering allegations, The Whitaker Group founder James Whitner stole the spotlight once more during his recent appearance on Complex’s Please Explain hosted by Aria Hughes. During the course of the near hour-long conversation, Whitner took a short moment to debut the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 3 “Hand Wash Cold”, yet another variation of his imprint’s collaborative work with Jordan Brand.

A continuation of their Air Force 1 “Hand Wash Cold” project from 2020, the Air Jordan 3 “Hand Wash Cold” is intended to be a high-quality premium execution of the iconic basketball shoe meant to be handled with care. Echoing the tenets of the original project from years ago, this Air Jordan 3 is clad in rich black suede uppers and translucent grey rubber outsoles, while the mudguard and heelguards express a touch of purple.

It’s unclear if these will ever hit retail, but if it follows the pattern of the initial 2020 release, a super-limited run of pairs could make its way out to the public. For now, The Whitaker Group hasn’t revealed any details, so stay tuned for updates as we learn more.

Meanwhile, the second half of the A Ma Maniére “While You Were Sleeping” collection is set to commence in October starting with the Air Max 95.
