News about the adidas Aruku has come fast & furious over the past few weeks. After a Gunna-assisted first look, when a 2025 release was initially reported, the launch date has drawn nearer and nearer with each successive update. Now, October 1st will debut the model worldwide, with two colorways dropping in the US and a just-unveiled black & white edition landing in Japan.
A pretty staid combination in the world of runners, black & steel grey drapes the shoe on the upper, printed on the thin graphic layers and the mesh base just below. Though futuristic appeal is certainly in the spotlight with the Aruku, a curveball comes with the off-white tonality on the outsole, Three Stripes branding and laces.
The shoe loading on adidas’ site brings more concrete information about the Aruku’s design. Most significantly, the Three Stripes divulges the new build taking inspiration from the adiZero PR, a Japan-only silhouette that’s a dead ringer for the webbed design on the upper featured here. Of course, the rounded, jumbo-sized sole is a major new addition, utilizing nitrogen-infused Swirlfoam for true speed performance and all-day comfort off the track.
The adidas adiZero Aruku in black & white drops on October 1st in Japan, with a US release expected to follow sometime in 2024. Whenever this colorway does arrive, expect a $140 MSRP.
