The Draw For The KITH 101 x New Balance Collaborations Opens On October 4th

Updated October 3rd, 2024: The KITH 101 x New Balance 1000 and 990v4 will release on the Kith App on October 4th at 1pm ET. The draw will remain open until 12AM ET on October 8th.

Ronnie Fieg and KITH are a venerable collab factory at this point, shuffling massive brands like Marvel and Giorgio Armani into their oeuvre while maintaining their sneaker bread & butter with brands like ASICS and adidas at the same time. Perhaps their most lasting collaborations in recent times have gone through Boston, though, and right on time, we’re getting a fresh New Balance capsule as we heat into the bulk of FW24.

On tap this time are the New Balance 990v4 and New Balance 1000. The former appears in pretty staid style, A tonal brown & off-white composition that runs parallel to the neutral tones that typically define KITH’s own apparel offerings. From a strategic standpoint, this continues the 990v4’s time in the sun, re-emerging for Grey Day 2023 after a year of layoff previous. This notches off another major collaboration to grace the sneaker, already iterated on by titanic Boston figures like Joe Freshgoods, Aime Leon Dore & Teddy Santis’ inline MADE in USA work.

Then to the other half of this two-pack. In contrast to the all-leather looks that the silo has taken to in it its first dozen or so looks, Fieg ushers in a suede take on the New Balance 1000, hitting on the premium runner concepts prevalent through his NB catalog. Speaking of, at least in these early looks, the pair lands very close to his “Pistachio” colorways of the New Balance 2002R and New Balance 993 in 2022.

While a release date for either pair hasn’t been announced just yet, official press includes a mention of “KITH 101,” the Brooklyn imprint’s line of unbranded technical wear. Given the synergy at work, expect a heavy promo effort and a concrete date to go along.
