Kids Of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder “Sunrise” Revealed

Kids Of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder “Sunrise” Revealed

Updated November 25th, 2024: Kids Of Immigrants x Air Max Sunder is releasing in both colorways on November 28th, 2024 via EQL raffle from Kids Of Immigrants. Stay tuned for the raffle link. The purple colorway releasing on Saturday, November 23rd via SNKRS Pass exclusively in NYC.

The Kids Of Immigrants x Nike era is about to begin, and it’ll start off with a bang by way of a collaboration around the Air Max Sunder in a completely reworked form. Currently at the forefront of the Swoosh’s retro wave, the Air Max Sunder has been reimagined with a newly concocted upper design that adheres to the late 1990s/early 2000s aesthetic while referencing other Air Max models of the past.

Off the bat, the Sunder’s signature armor plating around the mudguard has been spurned in favor of a TPU exterior webbing above a grid nylon layer. It acts as a framework of sorts to stabilize the foot, but there still exists a toe-guard and heel-guard for added support. KOI keeps the zipper enclosure and the midsole unit intact to maintain the Sunder’s primary DNA.

The shoes were spotted on feet at the Family Style food festival that took place in Los Angeles this past weekend. Kids Of Immigrants, founded by Los Angeles-based Daniel Buezo and Weleh Dennis, were one of the partners of the event; staff was seen wearing a new “Sunrise” colorway, ostensibly a nod to the Air Max Plus.

A release date for this collaboration has yet to be announced, but several colorways have already been unveiled both by Kids Of Immigrants and on the SNKRS Live preview earlier this Summer. Updates to come.
