As ASICS wades into the 25th anniversary of the GEL-Lyte III in 2025, Japan’s mita sneakers continues to celebrate ahead of time. After unveiling an Olympics-themed reprisal of the two imprints’ “Trico” collab, they’re dipping back into the backlog to return to the “Dried Rose” from 2014.
For the uninitiated, a burgundy-toned ASICS GEL-Lyte V arrived in the middle of last decade, during a period when the GEL-Lyte series provided some of the biggest movers for runners-centric sneakerheads. Just under a decade later, The floral theme graces the GL3, splitting the same dark red tonality at the toe and heel with a dose of deep purple on the middle panels. A colorway isn’t all that mita brings to the runner, though; a quilted collar, zippers uniting the split tongue and a special edition insole are just a few of the new material choices that define this collab effort.
For any readers in Japan, the online raffle for the mita ASICS GEL-Lyte III OG is currently live, with results distributed on October 5th. A wider online release via their site is set for October 7th, but as of writing, a wider/global release is currently unconfirmed.
