The heavy Beaverton behind the Nike Air Max Plus this year highlights a renewed consumer appetite for the Tn, but the model’s sheer influence may even outweigh its commercial performance. The Vapormax Plus is a perfect example, bringing Sean McDowell’s palm tree design to the bulky comfort silhouette, a massive year-over-year seller for the Swoosh. Given how even the most straightforward looks tend to fly off shelves in short order, we’ve got high expectations for the Vapormax Plus “Bred,” taking to one of the most iconic looks in Oregon’s archive.

In applying the timeless red & black combination, Nike keeps to a pretty simple script. The rosy hue paints the cushioned upper, particularly its base layer, while the trim and the TPU waves take on jet black.The glossy, patent leather up top, combined with the glittery finish on the upper create a ton of eye-catching detail. Though the Vapormax Plus has always been positioned as a “daily driver” sort of model, there’s no denying that this is one of the more striking colorways we’ve seen hit the silhouette in some time.
