Saucony’s growing umbrella of collaborative partners has just added one of the more compelling figures in hip-hop of the current generation. Alvin Lamar Worthy, aka Westside Gunn, took to Instagram to reveal some behind-the-scenes looks at what he’s been cooking up with the Boston-based athletic brand, revealing a first look at a Progrid Omni 9 and Progrid Triumph 4.
While announcements of collaborations tends to kick off with a well-manicured teaser, Westside Gunn provides a rather raw look at the early stages of his work with Saucony. Sharing clips of the Saucony design team schooling him on materials used for sneakers, to sharing technical documents of his upcoming releases, Gunn brings his audience in closer to his first-ever sneaker collaboration.
Both of his Progrid Omni 9 and Progrid Triumph 4 designs stick to colorful themes; the Progrid Omni 9 features an all-red upper with white and lime green bottoms, while the Progrid Omni 4 utilizes more of a multi-colored aspect. Finally, a new logo featuring the Saucony wavelength logo with his label Griselda in the brand’s trademark font is also revealed.
Release date information has yet to be revealed, but should be announced soon.
