ASICS and contemporary fashion label nonnative are following up their military boot collaboration from 2020 with another outdoor-minded shoe, bringing GORE-TEX fabric to the GEL-Terrain.
Excelling at the intersection of workwear and outdoor apparel, nonnative gives its latest ASICS project an earthy, contemporary palette. The shoe’s layer construction begins with a brown mesh GORE-TEX base, aptly shielding the foot from hash trail conditions. The front portion works in a series of brown suedes to match, with forest green accents presented on the toe and quarter underlay portion. Light tan treatments take over the heel and tongue, while both shades are utilized on the sole.
Embracing their shared roots through branding, the two Japanese companies introduce brushed “GEL-Terrain” text to the lateral side and a low-key nonnative logo on the lower heel. Meanwhile, a co-branded ASICS and GORE-TEX patch comes affixed to the tongue to polish off the delivery.
The nonnative x ASICS GEL-Terrain will release on October 19th via both brand’s online channels, as well as ASICS’ Harajuku Flagship and Osaka Shinsaibashi store. The shoe will also be available at COVERCHORD (online and in-person at Nakameguro and Fukuoka) and KITH Tokyo on that date. In the meantime, enjoy detailed images below.
