The Nike Air Max 90 is surprisingly versatile as both a warm and cold weather shoe. On one hand you have pairs comprised of lightweight mesh and suede, aka the model’s original material composition, while on the other you have autumn and winter releases featuring tight-knit mesh and other weather-permitting fabrics (not to mention GORE-TEX pairs). With colder days looming large in our part of the world, the latter genre adds a fresh greyscale colorway to the mix.
As promised, material swaps are what make for a timely release. The mudguard and quarter are both comprised of “Cool Grey” nubuck, enhancing durability while sheltering the foot from snow and sleet and the like. The base layer also sees a texture change, with ballistic “Wolf Grey” synthetic material taking over in place of the standard, more breathable fabric. In breaking up an otherwise monochrome upper, Nike brings yellow “Sundial” hits to the heel patch lettering, tongue, mudguard window, and Air bubbles. Staying underfoot, the design is complete with a white midsole, “Cool Grey” wedge, and black outsole.
The Air Max 90 “Cool Grey/Wolf Grey/Sundial” is expected to release this winter, be it late 2024 or early 2025. Enjoy official images below if you’re moved to cop a pair on arrival.
