Nike Maintains Focus On The 2000s With The Shox R4 “Team Red”

Another fresh look for the Y2K cult classic.

Nike Maintains Focus On The 2000s With The Shox R4 “Team Red”

Nike Shox are having a moment. Justified by considerable consumer interest in Y2K styles, the early 2000s running series is back for another retro run consisting of the Shox TL and Shox R4, the latter of which just surfaced in fresh “Team Red” makeup.

Regular readers keeping up with the R4’s revival tour are sure to recognize the color blocking at play. Just as we’ve seen with a handful of new arrivals, and original colorways dating back to 2000 for that matter, the titular “Team Red” hue is painted onto the sidewalls while the toe and upper paneling provide a continuous streak of black. Reflective “Metallic Silver” enters the mix on the tongue, complemented by stitched Swoosh logos to match. We’d be pressed to call any Shox R4 “reserved” given the model’s unequivocally unique tooling, but this latest colorway is certainly more conservative than others (see the upcoming Green Strike Shox R4).

Currently, the Shox R4 “Black/Metallic Silver/Team Red” is projected to release Spring 2025 in men’s sizing. Budget for an MSRP of $150, as is standard.
