Don’t sleep on New Balance’s catalog. Although silhouettes like the New Balance 1906R or New Balance 9060 may get a bulk of the pub, there’s a gold mine of more underrated silhouettes bubbling under the surface that champion many of the same design inspirations. Arguably Boston’s best in terms of outdoors aesthetics is the New Balance 610, most notably trotted out in the past year for Amine and YESEYESEE collaborations. As winter nears closer, the model is responding with the “Washed Suede” pack.
Each of three pairs included in this group share the same top notes; wide hexagonal mesh on the foundation is met by strips of shaggy suede up top, replete with raw edges that play into the rugged atmosphere these kicks all tackle. Further, dim, durable base layers run through each colorway, toggling between navy and black on the “Arctic Grey” and “Flat Taupe” editions, respectively. That leaves the most eccentric palette, arriving with the “Slate Grey” edition and its eclectic blend of an olive foundation, clay-toned mesh and true blue denim over top.
The New Balance 610 “Washed Suede” pack releases as part of New Balance’s Holiday slate, each version retailing at $120. Catch official shots of all three colorways just below with respective “Where To Buy” sections attached, updated with direct pick-up links upon arrival.
