Original article published October 24th, 2024: The second half of Nike Sportswear’s in-line offense has been centered around Retro revivals like the Air Max Sunder. Presumably a play to hit on the Y2K trend, the Sunder certainly matches the bulky, tech-heavy look at the Sunder doesn’t need to fake. After an initial launch in OG colorways and upcoming Gore-Tex protected options pacing the drop calender in 2024, it’s time to look ahead to the new and see what’s coming up.
A first look at a new Air Max Sunder appears with black soles and mudguard overlays, plated in dark grey armor and silver holes. Up top on the neoprene shell is a soft and soothing gradient achieved by a light dusk blue. These arrive via the standard build without any of the aforementioned protective coatings.
Expect Nike to launch this Air Max Sunder this coming Spring 2025 season for $180 on SNKRS and select retailers.
