Sneaker News Awake NY is only getting started with Jordan Brand. Launching the partnership with a quintessential NYC take on the Jordan Air Ship (the Game Royal pair drops on November 2nd, btw), the streetwear brand is shifting gears in 2025 with a its first-ever collaboration with the mainline Air Jordan legacy.
Sneaker News can confirm that not one, but two colorways of the Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 Retro are releasing in 2025. The color-specs for the first pair have been revealed by Sneaker Files to be Black/Racer Blue/Metallic Silver/Clear, and while their mock-up is pointed in the right direction, the design is not accurate . We can’t share the details just yet (we’ve seen samples of both pairs in-hand), but we will confirm that the Awake NY logo will be implemented into the Air Jordan 5 design in such a manner that has never been done on the Air Jordan 5.
The second colorway will share the same design as the Black/Racer Blue pair, but in a much brighter and vivid colorway. Again, we can’t share those details just yet, but it’s a color you don’t often seen in the Air Jordan 5.
There will be ample call-outs to NYC as the Air Jordan 5, which is celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2025, will serve as a vessel for Angelo Baque and the Awake brand to tell authentic stories through its product.
Finally, despite what is being surmised by other media outlets, DJ Khaled has zero involvement in this collaboration.
