As a walking Hall of Famer and a player that’ll likely flirt with top 10 status by the end of his career, Kevin Durant has had a number of notable nicknames throughout the years. Perhaps the most lasting memory in that regard was the battle between The Servant and The Slim Reaper, #35 pushing back against the latter and suggesting the former in its stead. Luckily for both us and him, Durant’s disposition towards the (objectively better) nickname has softened over the years, culminating in the Nike KD 17 “Slim Reaper.”

Reprising the motif from the KD 16 which sported bloody accents in its horror-themed colorway, the KD 17 instead adopts it more conceptually. The orange and black overtones are unmistakable for Halloween in this application despite its Spring 2025 target, overall leaning vibrant rather than eerie to match the season.

The sunny profile of course serves a double purpose as well, slightly darkening from light orange at the forefoot to a darker hue at the heel. On top of circling back to the model’s Air Max Plus inspiration, it sets this pair up as some suitable on-court wear alongside the Suns’ twilight-centric jerseys.

Look for the Nike KD 17 “Slim Reaper” on store shelves and Nike.com this upcoming Spring, carrying its traditional $150 retail price.
