Polarizing as it may be, New Balance’s loafer-sneaker hybrid has been a resounding success throughout its short life thus far. After heavy anticipation, the model’s first mainline colorway and Junya Watanabe collab both sold out instantly upon releasing in September and October, respectively, with high resale prices making great consumer interest clear as day. If you’re among those who swung and missed trying to cop the New Balance 1906L before, you’ll have a chance to secure this “Magnet” colorway in December.
While the first mainline 1906L came in metallic silver and grey, the “Magnet” colorway keeps things conservative with darker, less flashy treatments. The titular “Magnet” shade hops on leather overlays, while the mesh base layer, heel counter, and cushioning capsules underfoot class up in dark indigo.
The New Balance 1906L has been inescapable on social media since it was leaked earlier this year, sparking intense debate among sneakerheads and casual consumers all the same. To the uninitiated; the shoe is essentially a loafer-ized version of the acclaimed New Balance 1906R tech runner featuring the same Ortholite cushioning and design cues.
The New Balance 1906L “Magnet” is currently set to release December 11th, 2024, retailing for $160. See official retailer images below and keep our “Where To Buy” section handy for all available raffles/purchase links.
