The Nike Air Max Plus Tiempo epitomizes the “blokecore” wave to a tee. The newly introduced offshoot sees one of Europe’s favorite trainers outfitted with fresh qualities inspired by Nike’s iconic Tiempo cleat, speaking directly to soccer fans. All three colorways released thus far have embraced two-tone looks, and that continues on this latest pair. However, pitch fanatics might spot special significance at play here.
Official images reveal a crisp “Phantom” upper with “Metallic Gold” accents, closely taking after Ronaldinho’s legendary “Touch of Gold” cleats from 2005. The Brazilian soccer star’s Tiempo R10 achieved legendary status by way of a viral video dubbed “Crossbar,” which was the first ever YouTube video to hit 1 million views.
The Air Max Plus Tiempo is just one of several ways Nike’s been embracing the soccer shoe trend as of late. The Beaverton brand resurrected the Field General earlier this year, a counter to the adidas Samba, and recently came out with Tiempo-inspired versions of the Cortez and Killshot 2. We also recently got hit with an Air Max Plus colorway inspired by Nike’s Mercurial Vapor boot, for good measure.
Nike hasn’t set a solid release date at the time of this writing, but the Air Max Plus Tiempo “Phantom/Metallic” gold looks to arrive Spring 2025 for $190. See official images below.
