sneakersnstuff is very clear about their upcoming Salomon XT-6 collab; it’s geared for “sh*tty weather.” While gorpcore trends run rampant globally, the Swedish brand has a unique need for the outdoors brands’ hardy offerings as harsh winters loom. Even further, they’re grafting some additional durable touches in the process.
For the first sneakersnstuff Salomon collab, it’s no surprise they chose the buzzy XT-6, keeping a foothold in fashion due to those same trends. However, rather than embracing the sometimes eccentric colorways that so often break out in that space, SNS doubles down with Flash-X GORE-TEX draped comprehensively over the upper. In addition, the graphic foxing layer is replaced with new abrasion-resistant TPU, matched by a switch to resistant synthetics on the tongue. Palette-wise, the brands opt for the same wintery motif, blending “Almond Milk” off-white, “Seagrass” olive, and “Wren” brown on this collab.
While SNS remains a frequent face in the collab sneaker world, this link-up with Salomon continues a techier lean in their portfolio, most notably stamped with their work on the ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 VIII. On Salomon’s end, this continues their efforts to chisel into streetwear/sportstyle, adding SNS to a bevy of similar collabs throughout 2024 with the likes of atmos and size?.
The draw for the sneakersnstuff Salomon XT-6 is now open via the SNS app, retailing for $220; any pairs left over from that initial launch will drop through the app and SNS website on November 22nd.
