Matt Varga While we’ve spotted a few colorways of the New Balance 9060 that tackle more autumnal fare, the silhouette is truly better fit for warm weather. That’s on two fronts, both compositionally with its breathable mesh foundation, and aesthetically, easily taking to the brighter side of the color wheel. Though we’ve yet to truly enter the coldest months in the Northern Hemisphere, Boston is already shifting focus to that prompt with the New Balance 9060 “Beige/Violet.”
To be clear, this shoe takes on a rather neutral base, pinning off-white on the topmost suede overlays and a variety of complementary earthy shades on the sole unit. It’s the “Violet” tonality that peeks through the body that brings the sprightly energy to the fore. Though any of the model’s looks already ooze Y2K sensibility, this do-up doubles down on that appeal with some shining chrome hits towards the heel, on the very back of the shoe and on the heel counter.
