The Nike Air Max Waffle Racer SP Channels The OG “Voltage Purple”

The hybrid hit continues its movement.

The Nike Air Max Waffle Racer SP Channels The OG “Voltage Purple”

Nike purists don’t take too kindly to hybrid models as bold and daring as the Air Max Waffle Racer. Yet, the Frankenstein-esque silhouette has been a surprise hit for Nike this holiday season, which only means the Swoosh brand is expediting production for 2025.

But you don’t need to look too far ahead; the Air Max Waffle Racer SP emerges in its third known colorway of “Voltage Purple”, ostensibly calling back to the original colorway of the younger of the two models that contribute to this design. The rich purple shade appears on the nylon upper of the silhouette, while a bright red hits on the Swoosh logo and Air unit at the heel. A black suede toe-guard, heel, and lace collar wrap it all together to complete that 1999-esque look.

As alluded to earlier, there have yet to be other Air Max Waffle Racer SP colorways to surface, but we’re certain Nike has several planned for next Spring.

A release is expected this December 2024 on SNKRS and select Nike retailers for $140. If you don’t wish to look that far ahead, the Air Max Waffle Racer “Triple Black” is dropping on November 26th.
