adidas ClimaCool 1 “Core Red” Launching In December

Another nostalgic look for the 2002-born runner.

adidas ClimaCool 1 “Core Red” Launching In December

Brands like New Balance and ASICS are dominating the Y2K sneaker trend, but don’t sleep on adidas. Like all the biggest sneaker brands, the Three Stripes approached the turn of the century with an emphasis on performance innovation and futuristic design language to match.

In 2002, adidas kicked off what would later become a full-fledged sub-brand with the ClimaCool 1; easily one of the most significant new models of its era that stood out due to its pioneering breathability. Quiet as kept, the model returned in two original colorways earlier this year and has now surfaced in another nostalgic look for December 2024. Official retailer images reveal a “Core Red” mesh upper and midsole with black treatments taking over the quarter, outsole, and tongue/backtab sections.

European retailers are readying the adidas ClimaCool 1 “Core Red” for December 2024, although a global adidas.com release date yet yet to be announced. Scroll through detailed images below if you think these are worthy of a spot in your rotation.
