The sneaker culture we know and love today doesn’t exist without hip-hop. Much like how Fat Joe, Mayor, Wale, and the late DJ Clark Kent influenced street style through their well-documented sneaker fandom, Lil Yachty hopes to carry that torch forward among a younger generation of budding sneakerheads and hip-hop fans. While names like Drake and Travis Scott are unrivaled when it comes to the volume of their sneaker collabs, Yachty stands out as an avid collector and a true diehard when it comes to sneaker lore and history.
After modeling for the latest Nike x Cactus Plant Flea Market collection and playing a role in Nigel Sylvester’s Jordan 4 RM “Bike Air” rollout, the “Concrete Boys” rapper is now ready to release his inaugural project with the Swoosh. The Lil Yachty x Air Force 1 takes after Travis Scott’s “Utopia” and Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy” with a white leather base, letting a handful of navy blue touches carry the weight of the delivery. The logo of Yachty’s “Concrete Boys” collective is thickly stitched onto the lateral side of the heel, complemented by an elaborate graphic on the backtab and a leather tongue tag featuring “It’s Us” text.
As mentioned, the Lil Yachty x Air Force 1 Low “Concrete Boys” releases on December 2nd in adult and grade school sizes. See our “Where To Buy” section above for the full store list and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page for more.
