Just when you thought Complex was done with their festivities for the year post-ComplexCon, they’re back in the headlines for one last time in 2024. As fashion notables around the industry gear up for Art Basel activations, the media enterprise is enlisting long-time associate Verdy for “Complex Miami,” a two-day public space in Miami Beach. Most notable for our purposes, the Japanese multi-hyphenate will be re-releasing his fluffy SOTY contender, the Nike SB Dunk Low “Visty.”
Dubbed an “immersive” experience, Complex Miami will feature a large-scale showcase of archival pieces that Verdy had a hand in crafting, including exclusive, never-before-seen, or otherwise rare pieces from Girls Don’t Cry and Wasted Youth. Some pieces will be up for grabs, but don’t expect the buzziest ones to have a price tag attached: previously unveiled “Visty” and “Vick” statues will be on display but unavailable to take home in your check bag.
Again, the plush, plush-inspired SB Dunk Low “Visty” remains the biggest draw, but specific details on this re-release are scant at the time of writing. Expect the chance to grab these at retail sometime in the event’s runtime, opening at 11 AM on December 6th before closing up shop at 7 AM, maintaining those hours on December 7th.
The company and creative joining up won’t come as a surprise for those tapped into the trades; there’s a history between the two, last flaring up when Verdy hosted ComplexCon 2022, a role he partially reprised as the Creative Director of 2024’s inaugural Hong Kong edition. Each of those link-ups came with collaborative merch to match, which is likely the case for this Miami mashup as well.
Catch a look back at Verdy’s F&F dinner in Seoul just ahead, and stay tuned to this page for additional updates on how to grab this sought-after restock.
