Original article published on December 9th, 2024: Bad Bunny and adidas may have ticked off the “Last Campus” this year, but their partnership has never been sturdier since moving off Benito’s previous favorite model. Joining hands with Lionel Messi and spreading the enterprise into multiple different verticals, the Three Stripes is set to bring the Puerto Rican superstar into their performance offerings, utilizing a three-part collab to introduce the adidas adiZero SL 72.
Though the adidas SL 72 has been in the spotlight throughout 2024, this marks easily its splashiest moment (this side of Sporty & Rich, at least.) Its typical simplistic construction is vastly altered, bringing its traditional mesh upper and pasting it onto a techy adiZero running sole. In between, deconstructed mesh panels and leather strips serve as foxing.
Three colorways are on tap for this collaborative endeavor, beginning with a tonal off-white edition that ties in nicely with previous adidas Bad Bunny work, evoking many a tonal shoe he’s dropped in the past while working in a flash of light blue ala his “San Juan” Gazelle. The multi-colored edition that comes next instead highlights the mashup nature of the silhouette in general, utilizing hi-vis orange and yellow to starkly contrast the white and blue body. Finally, the brown and orange version slides in somewhere in the middle, executing an eye-catching arrangement without sacrificing a complementary overall profile.
Consistent with our first look coverage, the adidas Bad Bunny adiZero SL 72 are all expected to land mid-December. Retail pricing is currently unknown.
