Andrew Rizzo NAKED Copenhagen, Maha Amsterdam, and adidas are linking up for a three-way Samba capsule on December 13th, embracing each brand’s European roots and the commonalities that join them together.
The mini capsule includes two models, with the traditional Samba being joined by its more sport-focused sibling in the Samba MN (MN standing for “Millenium”). While both shoes look rather unassuming from a distance, NAKED and Maha approach the release with elaborate storytelling. The mini capsule is said to be inspired by familial bonds, be it ones we’re born into or relationships that are forged through shared experiences. As such, the Samba MN will be available in adult sizing while the traditional Samba will be exclusive to grade schoolers and preschoolers.
Black uppers, white stripes, and gum soles fulfill a tried and true aesthetic, but the real highlight lives on the toe box. NAKED and Maha drop the iconic T-Toe in favor of an embroidered knot, symbolizing the bond between all three parties involved.
The NAKED x Maha x adidas Samba and Samba MN will be available in-store and online via NAKED and Maha on December 13th. As mentioned, the traditional Samba will only be available in kid’s sizing. See official images below if you’re consider copping.
