A chilly colorway for the occasion.

The Nike Giannis Freak 6 Embraces The Season With A “Christmas” Colorway

Giannis Antetkounmpo and his Milwaukee Bucks will sadly be absent from the Christmas slate this year, but there’s a silver lining in him not suiting up, at least on a personal level. Already a 6-time veteran of the Holiday marquee, he’ll instead get the chance to flesh out his family side. However, his shoes aren’t taking the day off. The Nike Giannis Freak 6 “Christmas” has just emerged, looming as the 6th member of the Nike Basketball capsule.

While a down-the-middle execution of red and green would’ve certainly been apropos, instead the Freak’s shoe dons a chilly colorway that odes more to the climate than the celebration. A first on the model, an ombre takes the shoe from jet black at the heel to pale blue at the toe, further spreading onto the outsole when looking at the bottom-up view. If there’s any run-off effect in not meeting the holiday with its trademark colors, it’s that this edition will fare far better for year-round wear, able to appear out of season as simply a flashy pair of on-court kicks.

The Nike Giannis Freak 6 drops alongside the rest of the Nike Basketball collection on December 26th. Be ready for a $120 retail price upon arrival. In the meantime, catch official images included just ahead.
