Foot Locker Takes Over An NYC Coffee Stand To Celebrate The Nike C1TY

A tongue-in-cheek way to spread word about Nike's foremost metro silhouette.

Foot Locker Takes Over An NYC Coffee Stand To Celebrate The Nike C1TY

In its first few months on the shelves, Nike has positioned the C1TY as a true do-it-all-shoe, perfected for everyday wear throughout metro life, whether it takes you to the office or just a quick coffee run to keep you going. It’s only fitting that to celebrate the continuing success of the brand-new lifestyle proposition, Foot Locker honed in on a staple of NYC life — the streetside coffee cart. Teaming up with Sidetalk NYC to host the festivities, the retailer put a spin on things still, handing out “free” pairs of the Nike C1TY for anyone who purchased the “most expensive cup of coffee in the city,” coincidentally clocking in at the shoe’s exact $99 MSRP.

Braving the December cold, attendees lined up for the inauspicious stand outside of Cafe Colmado on 286 Broome St, with the promised dose of Side Talk energy elevating the ongoings in only the way their viral, spur-of-the-moment platform can. In an additional spin on the typical sneaker shopping experience, those who purchased were given their pairs in a suede upcycle of the iconic “brown bag” stamped with the “C1TY Grind” motto, an exclusive touch for those who were able to take advantage.

While the coffee-centric portion of the proceedings may be in the rear view, Nike C1TY remains available via Foot Locker. Adult pairs retail for $100, and kids’ pairs are also on offer for $85. Grab yours using the link HERE.
