Matt Varga Updated January 8th, 2025: Under Armour and Curry Brand have officially announced the Fox 1 “Banzito,” indeed a shoutout-by-way-of-colorway to his favorite post-game food truck, Banzito’s. In new detailed shots, some of the commemorative touches are easier to spot, including etchings in the midfoot strap that echo much of the brand’s iconography. The Fox 1 “Banzito” is queued up for a January 10th release via UnderArmour.com and partnering retailers like Dick’s Sporting Goods, retailing for $120.

Original article published December 26th, 2024: As we move further from the holiday-themed debut looks for the Curry Fox 1, its “Happy Fox Day” and “Happy Fox Day Alt” arrangements, Fox and Curry Brand are moving onto the homefront. After ticking off an unabashed ode to the Kings with “The Beam,” here De’Aaron clears space for one of his Sactown favorites, Banzitos Tacos. Almost without fail, the truck can be found outside of the Golden 1 Center. Even stretching beyond its current 2023 founding date, during its time as “Benditos,” the establishment and its owner, Adam Saldaña, have fostered a deep relationship with the All-Star point guard.
That spurred Fox to suit up in a PE colorway of the Curry 1 Flotro towards the end of the 2023-24 season, and now obviously inspires the pair in question here. The brand’s trademark yellow, black and light blue blend lights this colorway, with that aquamarine shade adding some flair to the otherwise Pittsburgh-esque profile on the very toe and the tongue. Keen eyes will spot a further expression of those vibrant colors, with two-tone laces expressing that blue and yellow combination again.
As of writing, Under Armour hasn’t officially announced the Curry Fox 1 “Banzito,” but retail partner Dicks Sporting Goods has this shoe listed with a January 10th release date. While we await further details, catch an in-hand preview included below.
