Nike Electrifies The Pegasus Wave With A Gradient TPU Cage

Some flair for your winter rotation.

Nike Electrifies The Pegasus Wave With A Gradient TPU Cage

The Nike Pegasus Wave captures two sneaker trends in one stroke, arriving in late 2024 as a new version of the Pegasus 2K5 tech runner featuring “gorpcore” utilitarian upgrades. Enhanced padding and TPU add-ons make the model more than suitable for cold weather, and with winter in full swing, Nike has come out with a whole cast of colorways that they hope might fill a slot in your seasonal rotation.

This latest pair lands primarily in black with “Ironstone” edges on the overlays, but for our purposes, eyes are first drawn to the altered quarter. The TPU cage transitions from “Safety Orange” to neon green as you move from the top down, adding a bit of flair to an otherwise monochrome, stealthy look. Ancillary details like the tongue branding, “NIKE” heel text, and Nike Air bubble in the forefoot appear in the neon green hue to match, while the interior tongue lining adds another instance of “Safety Orange.”

Expect the Pegasus Wave “Black/Ironstone/Safety Orange” to release via nike.com and retailers on January 23rd. See official retailer images below and visit our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview other upcoming pairs for Spring 2025.
