Original article published January 10th, 2025: Quietly, the return of the Air Max TL 2.5 is one of the bigger retro stories for the Swoosh this year, evidenced by its center stage status in the June ’24 SNKRS preview. With the model ticking off its initial few drops in November and retailers receiving stock of the upcoming looks, that endeavor is beginning to pick up steam, making this an opportune time to debut a timeless “Bred” take on the Air Max TL 2.5.

It’s essentially a palette swap of the still-upcoming “Citron” colorway, but importantly isn’t an OG look the way that one is. Despite being a modern invention, this layout is a winner all the same, the use of storied color-blocking a prime driver of that success. Waves of “University Red” coarse through the monochromatic look, further denting its jet-black tonality via the full-length Air unit underfoot and in flashes on the outsole.

The Nike Air Max TL 2.5 “Bred” is expected to land in Spring 2025, following the release window promised in that SNKRS showcase. Note that select retailers already have this pair listed for a January 20th drop with retail set at $180. Keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates page and Nike’s new arrivals to be the first to know when these land.
