The “Cult Classics” portion of the Nike catalog has been firing on all cylinders as of late, with retro runs for models like the Air Tech Challenge II, Flightposite, and Spiridon all poised to kick into high gear in 2025. The 1997 runner returned by way of its original “Sport Red” colorway last December, and now as expected, Nike just announced the release of two more OG looks.
The fan-favorite “Regal Blue” colorway is coming back for the first time since 2005 (discounting a 2017 “Ultra” version), while the grey and blue arrangement pictured above is eying its first ever return to shelves. The “Regal Blue” takes after the “Sport Red” with a black mudguard and red mini Swoosh, differing with a blue mesh base and metallic silver Swoosh. Its counterpart takes a more reserved approach, arriving in almost all-grey aside from light blue hits on the mini Swoosh and larger Swoosh border.
In addition to OG colorways, the Spiridon is also returning to shelves by way of collaborations. Fragment Design saw the release of two colorways in December 2024, and images of an Undefeated Spiridon made rounds online last November. The Spiridon is also used as a jumping off point on the Travis Scott Nike Zoom Field Jaxx, slated to be a hot topic in 2025 after dipping its toe in the market last year.
Back to the sneakers at hand, both OG Spiridon colorways retail for $160 and are expected to touch down in 2025. Nike hasn’t set solid release dates yet, so keep our Sneaker Release Dates page on lock as we continue to learn more over the coming months.
