A Closer Look At The Air Jordan 4 “Howard University” PE

Updated March 10th, 2025: A detailed look at the Air Jordan 4 “Howard University Bisons” PE has emerged courtesy of @englishsole. The shoes will not hit retail at any capacity.

The exclusive group of Jordan programs in the college ranks are beginning to receive their Air Jordan 4 PEs, and the Jumpman is returning to a familiar design palette to dress its schools for the Spring 2025 season.

First revealed by the UNC Tar Heels, the Air Jordan 4 PE now surfaces for HBCU Howard University in dark navy blue suedes, touches of bright red arranged in identical manner to the Air Jordan 4 “First Class” made for Jordan’s WNBA athletes in late 2023.

Just like the soft green pair that debuted just over a year ago, this Air Jordan 4 design features solid golden hangtags bearing the school’s crest, Michael Jordan’s silhouette on the tongue and heel holding a blingy stone, and premium suede upper construction.

Typically, college PEs feature ample signage of school logos and slogans; however, this style of Air Jordan 4 PE only stands out via the golden hangtags, a school slogan labeled behind the tongue, and program initials on the lace dubrae. This lack of distinction has been a point of criticism for this particular style of Player Exclusive.

As all college PEs go, a retail release is never happening so you will never find these in a list of Jordan Release Dates, although pairs are likely to end up in the hands of collectors eventually.

Concerning shoes that will actually hit retailer, here’s the latest on the “Black Metallic Reimagined” Jordan 5s.
