Though his work doesn’t get the shine of Travis Scott shoes or more high-profile collaborators, arguably no one has had as much impact on their chosen brand than Kiko Kostadinov. His expansive catalog has stamped itself on its own merits, certainly, but a shoe like the ASICS GEL-Quantum Kinetic showcases how his flair even takes hold in mainline offerings. Its bulbous GEL units and techy bonafides eventually prompted the Ukrainian designer to take on the model, but its general release colorways aren’t any less impressive.
As the silhouette enters its third year on the market, the same retro aesthetics remain in place for a four-pack of upcoming colorways, but we’re beginning to see a bit more flair applied to it, natural as its debut gets further into the rearview. For a relatively down-the-middle application, seek out the pair in “Oatmeal/Dark Taupe” or “Sand/Black,” each utilizing a heavy dose of neutrals. If you prefer something more vibrant, ASICS has you overly covered for Spring 2025, as flares of yellow & aquamarine or burgundy “Dark Cherry” and yellow accent the other half of the group, bringing statement appeal on top of the requisite chrome aesthetics.
The ASICS GEL-Quantum Kinetic in “Sand/Black” is available now via ASICS.com, carrying a $250 retail price. The other three colorways featured here are expected to land in the near future — keep our Sneaker Release Dates page handy for further updates, and check out the official images gallery below in the meantime.
